The Shop and Gallery  A warm welcome awaits you at our shop in Gillingham, Dorset. Though only a small shop it is packed full of interesting and unusual gifts, cards, clothing and jewellery mixed in with art and handmade crafts. I have also just introduced beads, buttons and findings in little packs alongside little packs of shaped felt. The shop changes constantly. The only thing that remains the same is that it is always full of colour! So any time it is really grey outside pay us a visit. We try to stock fairtrade and ethically traded goods and I question all of my suppliers, many of whom are small companies who regularly travel to buy their goods and know the artisans and makers personally. Not all companies are members of the British Fairtrade Association, at the moment they are reviewing the criteria for joining and not taking on new members. A lot of the companies are supporting charities in the countries that they are buying goods from, and using small suppliers. Here are some of the companies and artists who supply us. Pachamama Fairtrade knitwear and felt bags from nepal. Yak Fairtrade funky hats (some of the maddest I've seen!) Siesta Fairtrade gifts. Windhorse A Buddist company making gifts who support many charities in India. Namaste Fairtrade beautiful gifts clothing and jewellery. Nomad Fairtrade Clothing adults and children. Leela Fairtrade toys and soaps. Kenderdine Organic bath bombs, fizzy sticks and bath salts made in Devon...( I have tested all these products and they are lovely - no chemicals used in the making of them!) Patchouli Fair Fairtrade Small company supports charities and uses small suppliers and artisans in India making silver jewellery and clothing. Lucy Art Lovely handmade fairy cards all sprinkled with fairy dust! as well as pottery made in england. East of India Beautiful white washed and pastel wooden hearts, boxes and plaques made by small suppliers. Gekko A small clothing company based in Camden lock. Made in India and italy again by small manufacturers. Petra Boase Cards New in beautiful fun designs with a little button badge. Joanna Twinn Artists cards taken from 'homely' water colours.( cats and dogs sleeping by the aga etc) Towell and Scott Cards by Southwest artists including Francis Farmer and james lynch. Nella Cards with wild colourful animal designs with matching tags and wrap. Ian Snow An ethically trading company who are trying to get fair trade status. beautiful products from all over the world. Uttam Funky clothing.
